The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) are actively continuing to expand their cooperation with European partners, by strengthening their expertise in the fight against corruption.

On 3-6  July 2023, NABU and SAPO leadership held a number of important meetings with representatives of European organizations and donors in Brussels, The Hague and Luxemburg.

NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and his Deputy Polina Lysenko, SAPO Head Oleksandr Klymenko, and Head of SAPO department of organisation and analytics Nadiia Polhovska met with Director-General of the EU Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) Ville Itälä , Director General of the European Commission's Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR) Gert Jan Koopman and Managing Director of the European External Action Service (EEAS) Michael Siebert.

One of the crucial outcomes of the meetings was signing of an agreement between the NABU and the European Public Prosecutor's Office, which provides the prevention of corruption schemes and the prompt prosecution of suspects involved in corruption crimes. 

NABU and SAPO leadership met with representatives of Europol and Eurojust, where they laid the foundation for further cooperation in the fight against corruption.

The results of these meetings will help deepen cooperation and exchange of best practices between Ukrainian anti-corruption institutions and European organizations. These meetings were made possible by the support of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI).
