Out of more than 200 candidates from all over Ukraine, 30 students were selected to participate in the National Anti-Corruption Moot-Court in Kharkiv.
The National Anti-Corruption Moot-Court is organized by graduates of the NABU 2021 Anti-Corruption School with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) and the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
On November 20-21, participants competed in conducting searches, choosing a precautionary measure at the pre-trial investigation stage, and holding a court debate on top-level criminal offenses.
"For the EUACI, it is essential to support young professionals and their initiatives. We hope that the knowledge gained about how detectives, prosecutors and judges work will inspire them to make a significant contribution to the development of Ukraine's anti-corruption system," said the EUACI Senior Anti-Corruption Adviser Elena Konceviciute at the opening of the competition.
"The unique experience gained by the participants will help them understand the peculiarities of pre-trial investigation and trial of top-level corruption cases, as well as choose a professional profession in the future," said Volodymyr Vasylchuk, head of the NABU detective department and one of the judges.
