On 3 September, the EUACI team met with Deputy Ministers of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykola Trofymenko and Anastasiia Sofiienko to agree on further areas of cooperation in the field of integrity in education.
One of the key topics discussed was how anti-corruption measures could be mainstreamed in the educational sector. The EUACI and the Ministry agreed to begin cooperation on assessing corruption risks and preparing a new anti-corruption programme for the Ministry.
Another issue discussed was the implementation of the Education Integrity Development Strategy for 2026–2030, developed jointly by EUACI, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the National Agency on Corruption Prevention. The Strategy envisions comprehensive transformation of the educational environment, updating learning materials and launching professional development programmes, and transparent management practices.
The meeting also covered the implementation of ongoing activities, including the monitoring of construction of school canteens and the development of digital tools for monitoring prices and procurement of catering and food to school canteens.
Participants discussed the free course “Effective School Management under Financial Autonomy,” designed for school principals and deputy principals, representatives of local education authorities, and school management teams. The course is set to launch in autumn 2026 with EUACI’s support.
The EUACI and the Ministry of Education and Science will continue to implement joint projects aimed at making transparency and integrity sustainable standards of Ukraine’s education policy.
