On March 9, Deloitte started the integrity assessment of Zhytomyr Central City Hospital N1. The work plan, project team and priority goals were presented during a working meeting at the Zhytomyr City Council. The meeting was joined by Taras Sluchyk, Head of the EUACI’s Integrity Cities component, and Serhiy Yatsyk, EUACI Advisor to the City Mayor.

“The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative supports the desire of the Zhytomyr City Council to explore corruption risks in the healthcare sector, as well as to develop specific measures to minimize them. Today we are launching an active cooperation in this area,” Taras Sluchyk said during the meeting.

In order to identify corruption risks in the work of the municipal enterprise Hospital N1, a tender was held for the procurement of integrity assessment services. Deloitte was selected as the winner.

According to Svitlana Olshanska, First Deputy Mayor of Zhytomyr, the City Council seeks to minimize corruption risks in the healthcare sector, and the developed and tested methodology will be used to analyze other healthcare institutions as well.

The activity is part of the cooperation between the EUACI and Zhytomyr City Council under the EUACI’s Integrity City component. Cooperation between Zhytomyr and the EUACI has been going on for five years.
