Over 60 students spent their summer evening with young professionals who are fighting corruption

NABU detectives Madina Tuvakliyeva and Artur Koval, and the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative’s Project Manager, Oleksandra Miroshnyk, shared their experiences in working in the field of anti-corruption and their motivation to make Ukraine a better country with less corruption.

Detectives highlighted that it’s important that NABU focuses on dismantling high-profile corruption schemes, their causes, and the conditions that enable them. This includes initiating changes in legislation and regulatory acts, and cooperating with other bodies to alter approaches and practices. Thanks to this approach, NABU can dismantle the schemes that have operated for years, and the Bureau’s priority is not just punishing individuals, but changing the very system that allows corruption to exist.

Oleksandra shared that the EUACI, as a program supporting anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine, focuses on initiatives with a long-term impact. Because of this, the results of training, international cooperation, and analytical work she undertakes are visible only months and years later.

This meeting confirmed: Anti-corruption is not just an idea, but the daily work of people who are changing the country from within.

You can learn more about the anti-corruption sphere and see NABU from the inside very soon. Apply for the NABU Anti-Corruption School by July 5th and join the fight against corruption.
