During the Europe Day celebrations on 18 May there will be Creative Islands of Europe on St. Michael’s Square in Kyiv with performances, art exhibitions and information about European history and culture. The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUAI) will be participating in the celebration and has prepared several thematic activities for visitors.
Mini-quest “Road without Corruption”
EUACI supports a number of Ukrainian non-governmental organizations that fight corruption. The “Road without Corruption” quest will allow Europe Day visitors to learn about projects implemented by EUACI grant recipients.
Visitors will get a special map and follow the “Road without Corruption”. They will get stamps for successfully executing tasks at different locations and visitors who complete all the tasks can exchange the map for prizes from EUACI.
EUACI grant recipients that will be at the event:
Bihus.info — a team of journalists and civic activists engaged in anti-corruption journalistic investigations and many other projects.
Slidstvo.Info — an independent investigative agency that produces full-length documentaries and articles.
Chesno movement — a public initiative to control the transparency, accountability and openness of politicians and political parties.
Institute of Regional Media Development — an NGO that has been promoting the development of Ukrainian media through training and support since 2006.
Tochka Dotyku — an NGO that works at the intersection of art and the social sphere and raises the issue of corruption through unusual art performances.
Prizes for the most active participants
Not giving bribes or exposing corruption crimes – what do Ukrainians think is the best way to fight corruption? EUACI will try to find out by inviting visitors to fill out a survey. The first 100 respondents will get special prizes.
There are also more prices for visitors who take the online test “What kind of fighter against corruption are you?” and share their results on social media.
EUACI also has surprises for those who take photos at the photo zone and share them on social media using the hashtags: #ПротиКорупціїРазом and #EUACI.
