Allan Pagh Kristensen, Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative, and Oleksandr Saiuk, Mayor of Nikopol, have signed a memorandum of understanding that extends the cooperation between the city and the programme.
Despite constant shelling and Nikopol’s proximity to enemy positions, the City is still ready to continue its integrity work within the possibilities that exist in war-torn Nikopol.
In 2018, Nikopol became an Integrity City and began systematic work to develop transparent and accountable governance. This cooperation has delivered tangible results:
🔹 conducted a comprehensive corruption risk assessment within the executive bodies of the city council and developed a second municipal Integrity Plan;
🔹 launched a geographic information system (GIS) that includes a public geoportal, a budget map, an investment map, a register of advertising structures, a register of municipal real estate, and a city land cadastre;
🔹launched a modern e-Reception hall, four administrative services are already available, so residents can contact the city council online, without visiting in person. Nikopol is the only city in the region after Dnipro to have a modern e-reception hall;
🔹 carried out an integrity assessment of the municipal utility Nikopolvodokanal.
