Anti-corruption institutions continue their work during the war and respond to new challenges

Stepping into the twentieth second day of the full-scale war caused by the Russian military invasion, we are finding ourselves in a new reality. While bombs are falling and people are forced to flee, the anti-corruption institutions in the country are adjusting to new challenges and courageously continuing the fight for transparency and integrity in Ukraine. Below you can take a closer look at some of the most recent (and impressive) activities by the anti-corruption institutions.

HACC supports the Armed Forces with over 30 million UAH

Since 24 February, investigative judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) have processed more than 40 procedural documents at the stage of pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings. Additionally, HACC promotes the defence of Ukraine and has transferred more than 30 million UAH, which was previously deposited as bail, to the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

ARMA and the NACP are working with the Ministry of Justice to allow the sale of all Russian property in Ukraine

On 3 March, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a law allowing the sale of Russian property held in Ukraine. The Minister of the Cabinet Ministers of Ukraine, Oleh Nemchinov, has instructed the leaders of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency of Ukraine (ARMA) to start the process at the request of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).

The investigation of corruption crimes and their prosecution continues

On 14 March, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) filed an indictment against two lawyers with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC). According to the investigation, the accused offered a judge of the Kyiv District Administrative Court 100 thousand dollars to get a positive decision in the case on a claim of a business entity.
