Ukrainian applicants will be able to use an anti-corruption chatbot during the universities admission campaign, created with the support of EUACI

The new information Telegram bot “Admission Without Bribes” (@VstupBezHabarivBot) (ukr “Вступ Без Хабарів”) will help applicants and their parents deal with possible corruption risks, as well as quickly and easily report corruption.

In addition, the chatbot will have functionality for anti-corruption commissioners working in institutions of higher education and will help users quickly find a detailed description of corruption risks and measures to minimise them.

How can a chatbot help applicants and their parents?

The tool will allow you to quickly get information about the rights of the applicants, the steps of the entrance (with the ability to receive notifications), the electronic account of the applicant, the list of contacts of any institution of higher education in Ukraine.

Also, applicants and their parents will be able to find out about easy ways to file reports of corruption to educational institutions, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Educational Ombudsman or the National Police of Ukraine.

What functionality is available to the anti-corruption commissioners of the Ukrainian higher education institutions?

With the help of a chatbot, anti-corruption commissioners will be able to quickly find a detailed description and measures to influence the corruption risks of the 2022 admission campaign, which relate to:

  • organisation of the admission campaign;
  • influence on the administration or the selection committee;
  • internal entrance examinations;
  • falsification of the results of the assessment, motivation letter/interview;
  • plagiarism and compilation;
  • other violations.

In addition, commissioners can use the online consultation option to quickly contact the NACP (National Agency for Prevention of Corruption) in case of additional questions.

The chatbot was developed by the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine in cooperation with the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) – the leading anti-corruption program in Ukraine, funded by the EU, co-funded and implemented by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
