Working in the anti-corruption sector entails constant political and emotional pressure. For the NABU staff that is based in Kharkiv and Dnipro, these challenges are compounded by the persistent threat of Russian attacks.
Under conditions of constant threat and extreme workloads, psychological well-being requires professional tools just as much as any other aspect of the job. The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) supported a specialized psychological resilience training for the Bureau’s detectives and other staff.
Participants explored the neurobiology of stress and somatic regulation techniques, worked on psychological flexibility and managing anxiety, and mastered methods for burnout prevention and psychological first aid for colleagues.
We admire the courageous Bureau staff who, despite the risks of war, remain in their cities and continue their work to clear Ukraine of corruption.
The resilience of every individual within the system is the foundation for the stable operation of the entire anti-corruption infrastructure.
