Training on whistleblowers for NABU officers took place in Kyiv

News

With a new law on whistleblowers that came effective at the beginning of 2020, the EUACI sees the importance to help the NABU in analysis and formulation of internal policies as well as procedures regarding this matter. In order to enhance the effectiveness of the NABU’s Internal Control Department, we have organized and conducted specialized training on whistleblowers.

During the training, NABU officers analysed existing policies, formulated new ones based on international experience and the best European practices.

As a trainer, we’ve invited Mr. Ashley Savage who has over 10 years of experience on whistleblowing and unauthorized disclosures with a particular focus on public servants, military personnel, police, intelligence and security organizations.

The participants gave positive feedback after the training, in particular, outlined the most relevant sessions. Among them was the topic on international experience in the protection of whistleblowers, practical advice on improving regulatory documents regarding work with whistleblowers provided by experts.

The EUACI provides various support to anti-corruption agencies including strategic comprehensive expertise and technical assistance in capacity development for NABU staff.
