The EUACI shares best practices developed and implemented in EUACI’s Integrity Cities. Khmelnytskyi is one of five cities that have expressed interest in adopting these practices. On June 1, EUACI representatives visited Khmelnytskyi to discuss areas of cooperation.
Topics on the agenda included: integrity assessments of municipal enterprises; evaluation of IT tools and GIS; corruption risk analysis of the work of the Administrative Services Centre and executive bodies; and development of the city’s anti-corruption programme. Next steps include finalizing a roadmap of activities and moving into implementation.
The delegation also learned about what Khmelnytskyi is already doing on its own. The city’s geographic information system has been running for eight years and now hosts different open registries, from bike parking to urban planning documentation.
The Integrity Cities have spent years showing that transparency and accountability are practical tools that change the lives of residents. Sharing best practices means cities don’t have to start from zero, they can build on what already works, and move faster toward real change.
