The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) has concluded the selection process for projects supporting investigative media in Ukraine. The selection committee chose the investigative teams of Ukrainska Pravda and hromadske to receive support in 2026.
The primary objective of the call was to strengthen the capacity of independent Ukrainian media to expose corruption and promote transparency and accountability, particularly in the context of wartime and reconstruction processes.
The selection was conducted on a competitive basis following a national call announced in late January this year. Both teams underwent a rigorous evaluation process. Project proposals were analyzed by a committee composed of both EUACI internal specialists and an independent external media expert. Key selection criteria included the teams’ professional experience, the impact of their investigations, their capacity to effectively implement the grant, and high ethical standards and adherence to journalistic principles.
As a donor, the EUACI provides financial and institutional support while adhering to a strict principle of non-interference. Investigative teams maintain full editorial independence — the program does not influence the choice of topics, the course of investigations, or the content of published materials.
The implementation of these grant projects will last until the end of 2026.
We congratulate the editorial teams and look forward to their impactful investigations!
