Integrity values are not something that simply can be taught in schools—it is a part of culture. And people working with culture have a unique ability to engage broad and diverse audiences through art and public events. Recognizing this, in December 2024, the EUACI launched a National Call to support cultural projects aimed at raising public awareness, shifting perceptions and attitudes, and encouraging civic participation in the fight against corruption.
We received 42 applications and are grateful for each of them. After careful consideration, the Selection Committee has selected three outstanding projects. The selected winners are:
🔹 NGO Publishers’ Forum
The project seeks to promote the values of integrity by re-examining the century-old play by Mykola Kulish. It is supposed to foster public discourse on corruption from historical and philosophical perspectives while building connections between cultural and anti-corruption communities. Key discussions will explore themes of post-war reconstruction, business practices during wartime, and society’s tolerance for corruption.
🔹 Sebto Media
Implemented in the form of a podcast, this project will promote zero tolerance for corruption as a shared societal norm and an essential part of everyday life. It will equip audiences with practical knowledge on how to respond to corruption while inspiring a lifestyle rooted in integrity and accountability. Additionally, the project will transform journalistic investigations by Sebto Media’s partner NGL.media into compelling documentary-style podcast episodes.
🔹 Media Development Foundation
This project aims to educate citizens on the power of investigative journalism in exposing corruption. It will feature a series of offline exhibitions showcasing high-impact investigative cases, along with a documentary capturing the journey of journalists behind these investigations. The project will also include a series of interviews with investigative journalists, highlighting their role in promoting transparency and accountability.
“We are grateful for the impressive number of applications we received—each project showcased creativity, dedication, and a strong commitment to prevent corruption through culture. Choosing just three winners was a real challenge, but we are proud to support initiatives that take such diverse approaches to promoting integrity. From readings in theater and podcasts to exhibitions about journalistic investigations, each project will engage audiences in its own unique way, yet all share the same goal—shaping a culture of transparency and accountability. We thank all applicants for their innovative ideas and look forward to seeing the winning projects come to life!”
