Has the level of corruption increased?
Today, we observe an increasing number of corruption investigations mentioned in the media. This might lead to a perception paradox — is it really that bad?
The answer to this question and the question of whether Ukraine has been successful in its fight against corruption, were the main topics of discussion on the YouTube podcast show ‘Ebaut” with Iryna Shyba, the Deputy Head of the EUACI, and judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court Kateryna Shyroka.
"It's not that people started stealing more—it's that the authorities have become more effective," comments Iryna Shyba.

HACC judge Kateryna Shyroka highlighted the court's 4-year results, explained plea bargaining, and discussed how anti-corruption agencies support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"HACC allocated UAH 1.2 billion for Ukraine's defense. The court applied additional punishment to 42 individuals, all confiscated property was transferred to the state ownership," said Kateryna Shyroka.
