Ukraine moves up in Doing Business ranking

Ukraine has moved up to five points (to 71 from a total of 190 countries surveyed) in the World Bank’s Doing Business ranking .

The report says that Ukraine has significantly improved the quality of justice. In particular, it facilitated the execution of contracts, introducing a simplified procedure for the consideration of minor claims and pre-trial settlement of disputes with participation of the judges, operating in all economic courts of the country.

As a result, the Ukrainian courts are estimated at 11.5 points out of 18, which corresponds to high rates among the member states of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

According to experts of the World Bank, Ukraine has shown growth, in particular, in such categories: ‘trading across borders’, ‘enforcing contracts’ and ‘protecting minority investors’.
