Presentation of the new GIS module "Landscaping" in Chernivtsi
`

On 6 December, the Integrity City Chernivtsi held a presentation of a new geoinformation system (GIS) module on "Landscaping".

The system simplifies the accounting and management of city land improvement, community territory maintenance, landscaping, and garbage collection. GIS will increase citizens' access to information and engage the public through the ability to submit requests.

"Despite the challenging situation in the country, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative continues to work closely with the Chernivtsi City Council. The EUACI supports the implementation of digital tools to make city management more accountable and transparent. We are convinced that the new GIS module will facilitate public engagement and build a data-driven decision-making system in the field of urban development. And Chernivtsi's experience will be useful for other Ukrainian cities," highlighted Allan Pagh Kristensen, the Head of the EUACI.

“The new GIS module is a convenient tool for citizens and public activists to interact with the authorities, providing free access to information on playgrounds, container playgrounds, trees and smaller green areas. I am glad that the city understands the need for quality maintenance of these facilities and creates the conditions to ensure it” — shared Sergii Momotiuk, local public activist.

The main objective of such registers and maps is to increase the efficiency of utilities, avoid unnecessary costs, close gaps for corruption and ensure the proper allocation of time and equipment both in daily work and emergency situations. Therefore, despite the war, fruitful work with the city is ongoing.
