Be ambitious, shape the change in your county – Eka Tkeshelashvili addresses young Ukrainians

28 September first EU Study Days Alumni Forum kicked off in Kyiv. Eka Tkeshelashvili – head of EUACI spoke to young Ukrainians about corruption fight. Eka started her speech with describing her background at various positions in the Georgian government and explained the phenomena of corruption in post-Soviet countries. Moving to Ukraine head of EUACI explained why European countries are so eager to create ecosystem to fight corruption and what are the next steps.

Anticorruption court is a huge missing link in Ukraine’s efforts to fight corruption’ – said Tkeshelashvili. She then explained the young generation why anticorruption courts are so important for Ukraine and that their creation will complete the cycle of establishing the anticorruption bodies in the country. ‘In Ukraine corruption fight processes are happening, but are very fragile and we need to support them’ – Eka Tkeshelashvili told the alumni of EU Study Days. She concluded her address by urging the young generation of Ukrainians to be brave and ambitious and participate in the changes in Ukraine. 

Is an educational project of the EU delegation to Ukraine enabling Ukrainian students and university graduates to learn more about the European Union. The project is implemented by Ukrainian education reforms center. Since 2013 there have been 16 sessions of the EU Study days delivered by leading Ukrainian and foreign lecturers dealing with the E.U. and integration processes in Europe.
