The EUACI has organized study visit of NABU representatives to Belgium

On 19-23 November, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine has (EUACI) organized study visit of detectives and analysts of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine to Brussels, Belgium.

During the visit, ten NABU employees have met with the representatives of the National Police Headquarters, the Financial Intelligence Unit and the State Tax Administration of Belgium, as well as the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF).

During the study trip, the Ukrainian and Belgium experts were discussing the following topics:

  • relationship between detectives and analysts during investigations;
  • detection of financial crimes and collection of evidence;
  • management of criminal cases, including legal framework and IT tools;
  • use of state registers and databases for intelligence and investigation purposes;
  • use of eCase management system by detectives and analysts.

Thanks to the EUACI support the representatives of the NABU have got an opportunity to learn the best European practices of information analysis, data management and financial investigations, contributing to the improvement of the effectiveness of the NABU’s work.
