NABU Anti-Corruption School: Prepares Youth to Fight Corruption

News

Zero-tolerance of corruption among youth is the key to building a successful country with less corruption. For the fourth year in a row, the NABU, with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative, has been providing Ukrainian youth with an opportunity to learn more about fighting corruption through the Anti-Corruption School. The NABU Anti-Corruption School is a unique opportunity to learn the secrets of top corruption investigations, meet Ukrainian and international experts, and get an internship at the Main Detective Unit of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. This year, the

Anti-Corruption School received a record number of applications: 592 applications during the registration week, out of which 62 participants were selected for the online stage, including 19 finalists who were able to get an internship at NABU and the EUACI. During the online session, law students acquired OSINT skills, learned about international anti-corruption experience during lectures, held discussions on European integration with experts, and dove deeper into the functioning of Ukrainian anti-corruption institutions.

Iryna Shyba, Deputy Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative, also met with the student to explain how international technical projects like ours can assist with the implementation of the anti-corruption reform in Ukraine.

“Many opportunities are open to you today. A number of anti-corruption institutions and public organizations operate in Ukraine – all of them are interested in young and motivated specialists. Don’t be afraid to apply for internships and participate in competitions” Iryna Shyba advised the students. The project is implemented with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI), the leading EU-funded anti-corruption support program in Ukraine, and is co-funded and implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
