eCase Management System: A New Stage of Digitalization of Criminal Justice

1 December was an important day in the digitalization process of criminal justice in Ukraine. That day the High Anti-Corruption Court commenced the use of the eCase Management System so that search warrants will now be handled in a digitalized system connecting NABU, SAPO and HACC.

Digitization of pre-trial investigations is a unique practice for Ukraine. The development of the system began in 2019 with technical, expert and financial support from the EUACI.

In the future, it is expected that all document flows in criminal proceedings will be added – NABU, SAPO, and HACC will be able to exchange materials of criminal investigations within seconds.

This system enables the processing of procedural documents electronically among detectives, prosecutors, and judges, leading to significant savings in resources and time, limiting the use of paper, and ultimately enhancing the efficiency of pre-trial investigations.
