A year of legal independence: SAPO shows good results

On 19 March, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office marked its first anniversary as an independent institution. Last year, SAPO received the status of a separate legal entity independent of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

SAPO has achieved significant results: hundreds of high-ranking officials have been served with suspicion notices, dozens of convictions have been secured, and millions of hryvnias have been returned to the state. These accomplishments are crucial for strengthening the rule of law in Ukraine.

The high number of delivered results is the achievement of a strong and professional team that works tirelessly to pursue justice.

”A year ago, SAPO received its status as a legal entity and thereby further strengthened its independence. This was an important milestone in consolidating the independence of the whole anti-corruption system. We are happy to follow the important progress SAPO is making and we are proud to provide technical support and capacity building to the excellent SAPO team”.
