President’s initiative opens the possibility for boosting modernization of criminal proceedings in Ukraine

On  March 15th, 2021, the President submitted a bill to the parliament for urgent consideration aimed at boosting the modernization of criminal proceedings in Ukraine. Draft amendments provide an opportunity of introducing an e-case management system in Ukraine, which is a trade-mark of transparent and efficient criminal justice systems in Europe and beyond. 

Eka Tkeshelashvili, EUACI Head of Programme:

“We are pleased that the anti-corruption agencies, with the EUACI assistance, will be able to pioneer digitalization of criminal proceedings right after the new provisions are adopted by the Parliament. Launching of the EUACI supported the eCase Management System developed for  NABU, SAPO and HACC will mark the beginning of the major transformation of pre-trial investigation from the paper-based into the fully digital framework, opening up new opportunities for increased efficiency and transparency of the process and by that trust in the outcomes delivered by the justice system.”
