On 26 May, Poltava hosted a public event focused on digitalizing municipal services and rolling out new IT solutions. The event showcased the early wins and upcoming plans of the city’s newly created digitalization department.
The event brought together several strands of digital development that the community is pursuing with support from the EUACI:
– With expert backing from the EUACI, the city is gradually revamping community website. To simplify procedures for residents, a dedicated “E-Services” tab is already up and running, giving people quicker access to the city’s online services.
– The city’s geoportal, back online since April, will soon gain new thematic data layers. The EUACI experts are working hand in hand with the city to shape how the system runs, so the geoportal can become a practical, effective tool for smart governance and greater openness.
– Work is underway to update and organize information as open data — a key driver of transparency and accountability in local government.
The event also became a space for genuine dialogue among the city, local businesses, civil society organizations, experts, and engaged residents. The EUACI supports Poltava on its digital journey, helping the community grow more transparent and more effective.
