Nikopol is at the frontline – but still working with the EUACI on promoting integrity

On 16 August, the Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) Allan Pagh Kristensen, and Nikopol City Mayor, Oleksandr Sayuk, held a working meeting devoted to the future cooperation.

Despite an extremely difficult security situation – Russian attacks have led to 54 killed and 418 wounded inhabitants and 6200 damaged or destructed objects – the Mayor confirmed the high priority given to preventing corruption and promoting transparency and integrity.

For 5 years, Nikopol has been an Integrity City of the EUACI and the cooperation has yielded significant results. Among the successful joint projects are:
– the implementation of the Municipal Integrity Plan,
– the integrity assessment of the Nikopol water supply enterprise, Vodokanal, and
– the launch of the e-Reception Hall.

On 30 April, a platform for digital communication between citizens and the local authorities – the e-Reception Hall – was presented to the public. A full record of the event in UKR via the link: https://cutt.ly/DewFJ6de

Within Phase III of the EUACI, the Nikopol City Council has started working on Corruption Risk Assessments and an updated Municipal Integrity Plan.
