EUACI conducted Training on Communications for Heads of Departments of NACP

On 17 June 2020, Heads of Departments of NACP took part in a 4-hour training session “How to Effectively Communicate with the Media”. The training was initiated and conducted with EUACI support. 

The central part of the training consisted of 3 blocks: “Effective Communications”, “Key messages and Questions-and-Answers”, “Preparations to different types of communication”.  Training started with the short test interviews with 2 participants which were recorded and later analysed at the beginning of the training. The trainers thoroughly reviewed the answers and gave recommendations on how to answer more effectively better and gave the practical techniques which could be applied.

During the first part of the training, the participants got acquainted with the peculiarities of the work of journalists, their goals and the phenomenon of modern media as well as the main principles of conveying key messages and information.

The second block was dedicated to the discussion of the rules of proper preparation for different types of communication, including interviews, comments, guest in the studio, online interview, etc. NACP employees learned about different formats of answering and learnt the “bridging” technique.

EUACI conducts capacity development measures for anti-corruption agencies regularly since the beginning of its work in 2017, including provisioning of technical and expert support on strategic communications.
