On Monday, 8 July an important event in the field of small-scale privatization of state and communal property took place. Transparency International Ukraine transferred the second Central Database of the Electronic Trading System ProZorro.Sale to the state-owned enterprise PROZORRO.SALE. From now on, the state will be fully responsible for administering the system.

The EUACI supported the development of Small-Scale Privatization and Leasing streams. Due to transparent and competitive bidding, the state and local governments can fill budget gaps and small businesses can get better deals while purchasing the property.

The ProZorro.Sale project is the result of joint efforts of state institutions, civic activists and international organizations working together not only to provide financial support and implement the project, but also to promote it. “Financial support is a very important element of the project, but the most crucial part was to create the groundwork and trainings in order to effectively use the platform. Our partners succeeded in organizing meetings and workshops with platform users and stakeholders throughout Ukraine,” said Eka Tkeshelashvili, Head of EUACI.

Andrii Borovyk, Executive Director of Transparency International Ukraine, Max Nefyodov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Eka Tkeshelashvili, Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI), and representative of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) participated in the event dedicated to the transition of the Electronic Trading System ProZorro.Sale to the state-owned enterprise.

This is a unique project that combines economic theory, innovative IT-product, and a highly motivated team. We are very proud to provide a simple and convenient way on how to put state property on a fair auction and get money for the state. Within a single procedure, anyone can have access to any state asset”, – added Max Nefyodov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.

Andrii Borovyk, Executive Director of Transparency International Ukraine: “ProZorro.Sale is not a pilot project or a startup. It’s a full-fledged reform. Transferring ownership of the project to the state is its final, but not the last phase, since TI Ukraine will be further providing recommendations as a watchdog. We urge citizens, journalists and civic activists to use the analytics module of the system to search for pitfalls and succesful cases.
