E-declarations enable identification of illegal wealth

News

International Anti-Corruption Advisory Board (IACAB) has prepared its Opinion on how to ensure competent, impartial, and effective collection and verification of public officials’ e-declarations.

In October 2014, Ukraine adopted a Law on Corruption Prevention, which introduced new mechanisms in the anti-corruption system of the country. In particular, it provided for creation of a new anti- corruption body – the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP). The NACP was conceived as an independent executive body, but during the work it faced several obstacles. The experts examined existing information on the work of the NACP and provided its assessment of the situation and recommendations.

This Expert Opinion has been prepared within the framework of cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on Corruption Prevention and Counteraction and the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI).
