Academic Research: What will determine Ukraine’s anti-corruption future?

News

A research paper by the U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre, “Sustaining Ukraine’s anti-corruption future: The paths that lie ahead,” examines the sustainability of Ukraine’s anti-corruption agenda and what strategic shifts are needed.

The authors conclude that Ukraine should encourage broad-based domestic ownership of this policy arena and ensure the meaningful inclusion of a wide range of domestic actors, beyond formal officeholders and a narrow circle of NGOs, to set a collaborative, shared anti-corruption agenda.

The research was produced with the support of the EUACI. Some inspiration for this paper is drawn from two workshops, hosted by the EUACI in October 2024 and May 2025, which brought together representatives from civil society, media, public authorities, academia, cultural sphere and the private sector.

The scenarios and analyses presented here are the authors’ own.
