The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) helps Prozorro.Sale to ensure application of transparent mechanisms of selling and leasing public assets – Eka Tkeshelashvili, Head of EUACI, said it during her speech at the conference ‘Public Sales Reform: Small Privatization, Leasing and Institutionalization’.

With the EUACI support the event was held on 10 December in Kyiv. It gathered leading experts in the field of public sales for the discussion on the achievements of the system ProZorro.Sale that has been developed with the support of the EUACI.

The following speakers have participated in the discussion:

  • Maksym Nefyodov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine,
  • Eka Tkeshelashvili, Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine,
  • Vitaliy Trubarov, Acting Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine,
  • Andriy Borovyk, Deputy Executive Director of Transparency International Ukraine,
  • Oleksiy Sobolev, Acting Director of the State Enterprise ‘Prozorro. Sale’.

During the discussion, Eka Tkeshelashvili has pointed out that public sales reform is one of the best examples of reforms that are moving Ukraine forward in terms of good practices of corruption prevention mechanisms.

In his turn, Maksym Nefyodov, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine said that today 401 successful e-auctions in Prozorro.Sales system have brought 456 million hryvnias for the budget within the small-scale privatization. ‘We have created a simple and convenient way to manage public assets through a transparent auction system. Now under a single procedure, anyone has access to the assets of small-scale privatization,’ stressed Maksym Nefyodov.

The conference was also attended by the representatives of Zhytomyr, Mariupol, Lviv, and Bila Tserkva that have already begun to implement small-scale privatization. They shared their experiences and talked about the peculiarities of using the system of electronic auctions in the cities of Ukraine.
