International experts evaluated the effectiveness of ARMA

The second assessment mission of international experts was held from 6 to 10 August. During this visit they have conducted a technical assessment of efficiency and autonomy of the National Agency of Ukraine for finding, tracing, and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes (ARMA).  

The team of experts conducted assessment in three directions: asset recovery, asset management and institutional capacity of the Agency.

The main objective of this process is to look how ARMA has progressed since its’ establishment and provide recommendations to the authorities on how it could proceed further, taking into accountthe best European and international practices, and making sure that provided recommendations fit the Ukrainian context and capacities of the ARMA.

A report with key recommendations on improving ARMA’s work and activity for further institutional and operational development of the authority will be presented to the Agency for its comments at the end of September.
