EUACI Continues Cooperation with Ministry for Restoration
`

On 12 March, the Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI), Allan Pagh Kristensen, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine - Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the next three years. The Memorandum confirms the intentions of both parties to continue joint efforts in the fight against corruption and implement the best practices of integrity reconstruction.

'We are delighted with the cooperation we have developed with the Ministry. From the very beginning, over a year ago, we felt a strong commitment from the leadership to promote transparency, integrity, and accountability. Our main goal is to support the Ministry in establishing the framework for reconstruction based on these values,' highlighted Allan Pagh Kristensen, the Head of the EUACI.

Next year's partnership with the Ministry involves strengthening capacity in:

  • developing and implementing information and communication systems to ensure accountability of the recovery processes;

  • providing expertise and advisory functions and facilitating the cooperation between the parties within the framework of the established Integrity Support Group;

  • coordinating international technical assistance projects aimed at accountable, transparent, and efficient use of funds and integrity restoration.

One of the biggest ongoing project being implemented by the Ministry with the EUACI support is developing a unified geo-information system for monitoring and evaluating the development of regions and territorial communities. This week, the Ministry for Restoration presented a draft version of the System to the public.

The first version is expected to be launched by summer.
