News

Despite Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine is ongoing, the Ukrainian government and civil society are sure that Ukraine will prevail and already developing a plan to recover and rebuild Ukraine.  The European Commission has announced a record assistance program for post-war reconstruction, linked to reforms. The Ukrainian side plans to present the draft Reconstruction Plan at the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2022) in Lugano, Switzerland, on July 4-5.

While planning the reconstruction of Ukraine, it is important to pay attention to the lessons learned from the recovery and rebuilding of other states. At the same time, it is crucial to ensure a transparent and accountable reconstruction process that will affect the volume of assistance and the involvement of international partners.

The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative will host a hybrid seminar “Accountability in Reconstruction: International Experience and the Case of Ukraine”, which aims to create a platform for exchanging ideas on integrity, transparency and accountability during recovery and rebuilding of Ukraine.
