In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the School Nutrition Reform Team, the EUACI conducted a training session on procurement during the school canteen reconstruction. The goal was to increase the competences of procurement officers of local authorities in preparing tender documentation and conducting procurement procedures for construction work.
Andriy Stashkiv, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, highlighted that the experience of monitoring procurement processes during the reconstruction of school canteens in 2024 became a basis for improving new projects. The shortcomings and challenges, identified by the EUACI experts, now serve as lessons learned for those working on the modernization of school canteens in 2025.
The event gathered over 500 participants in hybrid format. Participants gained:
- Overview of procurement challenges and how to avoid them.
- Experience in monitoring and controlling the use of state subvention.
- Successful case studies and modern approaches to procurement.
- Practical recommendations for transparency and efficiency in procurement procedures
This training served as a platform for sharing experiences and best practices that will help educators and officials conduct transparent and effective procurement processes.
