February 24, 2022, divided the lives of millions of Ukrainians into “before” and “after.” We admire the courage of the Ukrainian people, who have been fighting for their freedom every day—not only over the past three years but since 2014. The Ukrainian people have shown bravery in defending their country and the core principles of international law.
The main enemy on the frontline is Russia; in the rear, it is corruption. This is what the Ukrainians continue to tell us in the many surveys being conducted. We work to support our Ukrainian partners in preventing and fighting corruption.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative mobilized its resources and became among the first to provide emergency aid to Ukrainians. Four million euros were allocated. Since the Summer of 2022, our team has remained in Kyiv supporting its anti-corruption partners in Kyiv and in key Ukrainian cities.
We are supporting EU accession-related reforms carried out under the most challenging circumstances. We know that the future of Ukraine and its citizens lies within the European Union.
We continue working to ensure that integrity becomes the foundation of Ukraine’s future and that reconstruction and recovery will build on transparency and accountability.
🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!
