The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) have presented the results of their work for the second half of 2025. These results clearly show why the independence of NABU and SAPO is essential for Ukraine’s ability to investigate and prosecute top-level corruption, especially during wartime and reconstruction processes.
Key numbers for July–December 2025:
- 367 new investigations
- 103 suspects
- 55 indictments
- 126 defendants
- 70 convictions
The cases covered strategically important areas, including the energy sector, defence, infrastructure, and regional development, and involved senior officials and high-level corruption schemes.
The overall economic effect of NABU and SAPO’s work in the second half of 2025 exceeded UAH 4.9 billion, including recovered and confiscated assets, savings in public procurement, and funds directed to support Ukraine’s defence.
NABU and SAPO remain key partners of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine, and strengthening these institutions remains a core priority for the EUACI. We continue to support NABU and SAPO through professional training and capacity-building programmes for staff, communication and strategic development support, technical, and IT assistance.
We are grateful to the professional and dedicated teams of NABU and SAPO that continue working and delivering results under pressure. The EUACI will continue to support both institutions in building resilient structures, modern tools, and professional teams capable of delivering results over the long term.
