Standing with Ukraine — then, now, and for the future.

News

Today, on the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion, we express our deep admiration for the strength, resilience, and courage of the Ukrainian people.

Ukrainians continue to defend their freedom. As many Ukrainians say, the enemy at the frontline is Russia, and the enemy in the rear is corruption.

When Russia launched its full-scale invasion, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) immediately refocused its work to respond to the most urgent needs of Ukrainians. Already in the first weeks of the invasion, the EUACI mobilised €4 million for emergency support and civil society assistance, including:

  • rapid support to civic organisations in Kyiv and the regions, helping communities under attack, assisting people fleeing the war
  • emergency assistance with food, water, shelter, and medical aid
  • renovation and equipment of shelters in more than 20 communities to serve as safe spaces during air raids
  • provision of protective and life-saving equipment: helmets, body armour, tactical first aid kits, sleeping bags, thermal imagers, and other essential gear
  • fast delivery of support through trusted local partners and networks, when large international mechanisms were still being deployed

The EUACI was able to act quickly thanks to its team on the ground and strong cooperation with civil society, and local authorities across Ukraine. Since the summer of 2022, our team has remained in Kyiv, supporting reforms, strengthening integrity, and helping ensure that reconstruction and recovery are built on transparency, accountability, and trust.

We continue working to ensure that integrity becomes the foundation of Ukraine’s future.

Glory to Ukraine and its heroes!
