Poltava: Training for city council representatives launched

On 23 August, the first in a series of training sessions for representatives of the Poltava City Council took place in Poltava. The training was organized by the Institute of Political Education with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) and is aimed at strengthening integrity and effectiveness in local governance.

The first session, “The Role of Strategic Planning in Times of Uncertainty”, brought together 24 employees of the executive bodies of the Poltava City Council. Participants explored current legislative requirements for strategic documents, discussed the application of recommendations from national and regional programs in planning, and considered ways to engage businesses, universities, and the public in community development.

This training marked the beginning of a six-module program that will address key areas, including:

  • management of public institutions;
  • strategic communications;
  • public procurement;
  • oversight of infrastructure project implementation.

The next training is scheduled for September.
