Interviews of candidates for the High Anti-Corruption Court and its Appeals Chamber began

73 candidates have reached this stage of the competition and are competing for 13 vacant positions at the High Anti-Corruption Court as a court of first instance and 10 positions at its Appeals Chamber.

During a special joint meeting, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine together with the Public Council of International Experts assessed candidates’ compliance with the criteria of integrity, professional ethics, lawfulness of the origin of assets, lifestyle, and the availability of the necessary knowledge and practical skills.

The Public Council of International Experts is an auxiliary body of the HQCJ.

Its members are international experts with at least five years of professional experience abroad in corruption-related cases (as judges, prosecutors, or in procedural leadership roles).

The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) supports the work of the PCIE in this competition by providing logistic and communications support, as well as support to the Secretariat and analysts.

To ensure the transparency of this and further competitions, the EUACI has also purchased professional video equipment for the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine. All interviews with candidates are streamed on the HQCJ’s YouTube channel in both Ukrainian and English.
