Mykolaivvodokanal saved UAH 40 million by updating its procurement procedures

At the end of 2024, the municipal enterprise Mykolaivvodokanal comprehensively updated its procurement processes. As a result, in 2025, the enterprise managed to achieve savings of UAH 40 million.

The updated policies were developed and implemented with the expert support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI).

The total amount of savings was generated in two key areas:

  • UAH 25 million – saved on the procurement of goods due to better planning and the involvement of a wider range of participants in tenders.
  • UAH 15 million – reduction in the estimated cost of works after the implementation of a new methodology for determining market prices for materials.

The new policies allowed the enterprise to move away from outdated practices and clearly regulate the process of determining the expected value. This contributed to increased competition and lower prices for the main categories of procurement.
