Last May, Poltava joined the EUACI’s Integrity Cities, and the acting mayor and her team began working with our experts to make the city administration more transparent and accountable to its citizens.
During a working visit on March 5, the team of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative and the acting mayor, Kateryna Yamshchykova, discussed future steps and plans, specifically regarding public procurement, regulatory policy, digitalization, and the creation of geographic information systems (GIS) like those that already operate in other Integrity Cities.
Representatives of the Poltava City Council and EUACI also visited Lyceum No. 38 named after Ivan Pavlovskyi. The canteen modernization project at this lyceum was carried out with supervision by EUACI’s experts to enhance transparency and minimize corruption risks. Now, pupils can enjoy healthy food in a modern canteen.
The day concluded with a screening of the documentary “After the Era of Silence,” produced by hromadske with the EUACI’s support. The screening took place at the Poltava Law Institute of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. Yurii Kravchenko, Head of the NABU Kharkiv Territorial Unit, joined the screening. University students actively participated in the discussion.
See you again soon, Poltava!
