News

On 10 March 2020 DEJURE Foundation with the support of EUACI held the presentation of the newly created interactive database “Disciplinary Cases against Judges in Criminal Proceedings” to investigative judges and staff of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC).

“Disciplinary cases against judges in criminal proceedings” – is an online interactive database developed by DEJURE Foundation with the support of EUACI that allows users to find the disciplinary practice of the High Council of Justice (HCJ) on the investigative judges and judges considering criminal proceedings, in a quick and effective way.

This database will be useful for judges, lawyers, attorneys as well as other practitioners in the field of law who want to appeal against a judge’s actions and evaluate the prospects of a disciplinary complaint.

“This presentation and this database raise some very specific issues, but ones that are at the heart of the judicial practice, that is the analysis of what HCJ considers as disciplinary violations while considering motions on measures of constraint, the arrest of property and search warrants. This generalization of views of HCJ is of particular importance and very pertinent especially to HACC and especially to investigative judges of HACC.” –  stated Halyna Kokhan, Anti-Corruption and Prevention Expert of the EUACI, during the opening of the presentation.

One of the key components of EUACI is supporting selected national CSOs in implementing initiatives aimed at the anti-corruption agenda.

EUACI has long-standing and fruitful cooperation with DEJURE Foundation. Their activities are always directed at assessing the current state of events in the judiciary, identifying and finding ways to address the gaps and problem areas in the judicial sphere and generally in the field of rule of law.
