EUACI supported NABU in creation of anti-corruption interactive online course

News

With the support of the EUACI National Anti-corruption Bureau jointly with the online education studio EdEra developed an interactive course “NABU investigates” in the form of anti-corruption investigation online game. The interactive format and unique materials of the course will help to form knowledge and improve skills in exposing illegal actions of TOP-officials.

The interactive course was launched on 14 May 2020. From now anyone interested can sign up and try to conduct a full cycle of investigation of TOP-level corruption crimes as NABU Detective. Meanwhile, real detectives, lawyers and analysts of NABU will help to understand the peculiarities of the pre-trial investigations.

The course is designed for law students, investigative journalists, public activists who expose corruption and young investigators who just started to work in law enforcement bodies. To complete the game successfully you have to conduct a series of investigative actions, collect pieces of evidence, give notice of suspicion, and finally send the case to the court,” the Head of the NABU External Communications Department Svitlana Olifira explained.

The game is so realistic and really cool. I have never seen anything alike. It successfully combines video lectures and tasks, explains the aspects of the detectives’ work, of course, within acceptable limits. Each stage of the game contains a video with expert’s advices. This game is much more than just theory that students learn in universities,” the NABU intern Maryna said after she had completed all the tasks of the course.

The interactive course was developed by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine jointly with the online education studio EdEra with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative.
