The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative became a partner of this year’s largest event for the civil society sector — the XIV Civil Society Forum. The Forum brought together thousands of participants and created a space for open conversations about the current state and future of the civic sector.
During the donor pitching session, Iryna Shyba, Deputy Head of EUACI, presented the programme’s key results, approaches to cooperation with civil society organisations, and plans for the coming year — including upcoming grant calls for investigative media and in the area of anti-corruption mainstreaming. These calls will be announced soon on our website.
During the panel discussion “City Transformation: How Cities Become Transparent,” we talked about:
- how integrity practices are being developed in Ukrainian cities;
- the role of investigative journalism in advancing these processes;
- real cases from Zhytomyr, Dnipro, and other communities.
At the panel “Integrity in Education: a Luxury Maximum or a Basic Minimum,” we discussed how to shape an educational environment that fosters integrity values in every child.
Key takeaways:
- integrity is not an optional add-on — it is the foundation;
- the need for new standards of safety and trust in schools;
- success stories from educational institutions;
- the importance of cooperation between the state, parents, and teachers.
