EUACI achieves good results in Chernivtsi

In 2017, Chernivtsi became the first EUACI Integrity City. Since then, our partnership has become deeper and more impactful every year. Due to the systematic implementation of anti-corruption tools, Chernivtsi topped the Transparency International Ukraine Cities Transparency Ranking in 2024. We are delighted to continue our work with the City Council.

Recent key achievements:

  • The internal audit and control department was established, and the first audit in the cultural sector has already saved the city UAH 450,000. Currently, 61% of the audit recommendations have been implemented.
  • Over 2,300 residents have already used the “Electronic Reception Desk,” provided by the EUACI. It currently offers four types of communal services.
  • Five Geoportal modules have been launched, providing citizens with transparent access to information about municipal activities and city life.
  • A unique asset management system is introduced that improves decision-making and transparency.
  • Integrity Assessments of municipal enterprises are creating more transparent enterprises, closing gaps of corruption, and promoting integrity.

The Head of the EUACI, Allan Pagh Kristensen, and the Mayor of Chernivtsi, Roman Klichuk, reflected on the results of joint efforts and outlined future priorities in a new Memorandum of Understanding.

The results achieved by Chernivtsi prove that integrity is the best development strategy for a city.
