EU supports Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) 

Head of EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) in Ukraine Eka Tkeshelashvili and Special Anticorruption Prosecutor Nazar Kholodnytskiy signed a memorandum of understanding. MoU provides that EUACI will support SAPO by means of offering expertise, exchanging of experience, information and best practices, providing relevant legal sources or international jurisprudence, organisation of workshops, seminars, conferences, study visits and similar activities.

However, EUACI started cooperation with SAPO even before signing of the memorandum. ‘We had a study tour to Lithuania for NABU and SAPO in the end of August with the aim to learn the best European practices of investigating crimes of illicit enrichment. Prosecutor General’s Office, Special Investigation Service, Financial Crime Investigation Service, Lithuanian Parliament’s Anti-Corruption Committee, Law and Legal Committee, Supreme Court of Lithuania Criminal Case Division, Constitution Court’ – said head of EUACI Eka Tkeshelashvili
