Last week Charles Michel, President of the European Council, visited Kyiv and met with the Ukrainian government, the EU representatives, and the EUACI Deputy Head Iryna Shyba.
From the first days of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, all EU-funded projects in Ukraine have been able to refocus on new areas of activity. The EUACI has re-oriented around € 4 million to provide emergency assistance to the Ukrainian people.
Charles Michel also announced the establishment of the Trust Fund for Solidarity with Ukraine in May 2022. EUACI stands ready to assist the Ukrainian government and state institutions by ensuring the integrity and transparency of the Fund’s work.
We are grateful for the strong support of the EU, which allowed us to respond quickly to the needs of Ukrainians and strengthen their resilience during the war.
