The Association of Ukrainian Cities (AUC), supported by the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI), held a series of online events for representatives of local government, compliance officers, lawyers, and sector experts.
During three days – on October 9, 10, and 13 – around 600 participants joined training sessions and a presentation dedicated to strengthening integrity and minimizing corruption risks in the communities. Practical training sessions were held for compliance officers in local self-government bodies, with a focus on real cases of the usage of anti-corruption tools.
Participants also learned about the experience of implementing anti-corruption tools in EUACI’s Integrity Cities. Chernivtsi representatives presented a geo-information system, and Mykolaiv — updated procurement procedures.
A key event was the presentation of the “Integrity in Local Government” online platform, jointly developed by the AUC and EUACI. During the presentation, representatives of the organizations provided participants with a detailed overview of the new platform’s capabilities.
“This platform is primarily about cooperation between cities and the dissemination of the best anti-corruption tools that have been developed and implemented in the Integrity Cities. This is how we can make local government more transparent and resilient,” emphasized Dmytro Iakymchuk, Team Lead of the Component Integrity Cities at the EUACI.
