The modernization of school canteens is part of the school nutrition reform that transforms not only infrastructure but also approaches. While the EUACI is engaged in minimizing corruption risks in the construction of school canteens, we are also contributing to the broader agenda of creating more transparency and integrity in the school nutrition reform.
To ensure these changes to be sustainable and transparent, it takes more than just new equipment and renovations — it requires clear, consistent communication with children, parents, educators, and communities.
This is exactly what the EUACI is working on together with our partners from the Ministry of Education and the School Nutrition Reform team. At the strategic session on 25 April, we discussed how to tell the stories of change better — from the first renovated school canteen with the use of comprehensive anti-corruption methods to the conscious choice of healthy food in every school.
During the session, we:
– summarized the results of 2024;
– planned new communication campaigns for 2025;
– outlined joint steps with international partners to advance the reform further.
Each renovated school canteen is a story of an honest and responsible approach. Ukraine is not just modernising school canteens but also building a culture of integrity — in school canteens and the hearts of communities.
