Meet Bihus.Info – one of the EUACI’s civil society partners

In October 2020, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) launched cooperation with four civil society organizations, providing them with core funding. This development assistance is aimed to contribute to the implementation of their organizational strategy.

Meet one of the EUACI institutional partners – TOM 14 NGO, known as Bihus.Info! It is a team of activists, journalists, IT specialists, and lawyers who create new instruments and resources to increase the capacity of investigative media and the civic control of the government.

Since 2015, the Bihus.Info team has been raising public awareness of the negative impact of corruption through TV & YouTube shows, as well as providing legal support for whistleblowers’ activities and investigations. The EUACI has been providing support for TOM 14 NGO for four years already.

Only in 2020, the Bihus.Info team:

  • Gained 96 million views on social media;
  • Saved 2.1 million euro of taxpayers’ money;
  • Triggered 59 court cases and inspections;
  • Increased subscribers on social media by 225 thousand;
  • Reached 21.5 thousand quotes by media;
  • Received 16 national and international awards (2018-2020).

The TOM 14 NGO’s goals for 2021 are expanding the presence in the regions, increasing analytical, textual news and investigations as well as organizational development.

Earlier, the EUACI presented another institutional partner – the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance (UNIC).

The EUACI, funded by the EU, co-funded, and implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, continues to support Ukraine in the fight against corruption through the empowerment of media, civil society, businesses, and state institutions.
